It seems as if the political right is afraid to cross their base while the corporations are scared about the other remainder of the electorate. Maybe there is hope for democracy after all.
there is something both deeply strange and deeply American that US corporations are stepping up to save the nation. They are going green, they are supporting civil rights, they are pushing back against trumpism.
I mean if you'd ask the average Dem if corporations are part of the resistance, they'd scream NO NO NO in your face, but there it is.
The GOP knows only culture war now. It's all they've got and they will use it.
The problem is that the GOP side of the culture war is the minority side so they will shrink.
Many on the twitter are pointing out that the GOP is all for Citizen's United when it means money comes their way...but they tell corporations to butt out of politics when business supports Dems.
So complicated.
