In response to the greyhound thing. I have traveled to a few of these IAAF meets and can assure you most of the athletes, coaches and media people ply into the closest major airport then the IAAF has you meet up at a spot then they put people on busses to go to the host city.
Yes eugene has an airport but I will bet most team flew into Portland then were busses down.
Many times I would land in an airport go to the IAAF meeting point. Sit for an hour plus until a bus filled with a mix of people (1 trip after 2 long flights landed in Poland had to wait 90 min then took a bus 3 hours to the host city. Will admit it was fun riding with a mix of usa, Botswana and Sweden-i sat next to a Botswana runner the whole way).
So I will bet it was not Salazar buying her a ticket then dumping her off at the Portland bus station to grab a public bus to eugene.
