Covid tired. Let in rest. He will wear mask. Fit and healthy people running. No danger from being outside.
It's on his Strava already. Looks like the final 4km pace slipped quite a lot... maybe humidity was an issue after all?

Add the name M. Blanco to that pack.

He was tested twice to get into the elite wave. Get off your high horse of fear mongering.
The concern isn’t SJD spreading the virus, it’s the folks who will go to the meet up that haven’t been tested. Pretty gutsy moving considering True Love is overweight and probably diabetic. Would love to see the covid contraction numbers after this event.
This exactly. Plus its the normalizing that group gatherings are OK right now - COVID posi or not.

Talking about SJD. Apologies for lack of clarity

M. Blanco DNF??
But J. Niemic (finished 5th) was with the pack at Galleon, too.

He placed 4th overall, 1st in age group....but maybe(?) his 'elite wave' placing trumps the latter.
DeMoor's new PB 1:05:44 has 2:17:3x potential in the Marathon, per Daniels Calculator; McMillan gives it a 2:18:20.
Nice PR, but It will be interesting to see his thoughts on the race. From the results, it looks like he was never on his "A" goal pace.
Two finishers placing immediately behind Seth ran in the Oly Trials last year.
Dew point was in the mid/upper 40s. That’s dry, especially for Florida.

Wasn't his "A" goal to break 65? He was running in a pack (see my posts earlier) at 44:40 (Galleon) into the race, on 4:58 pace. One of the guys in that pack, S. Martinez (looks like a SoCal runner, used to these temps), eventually broke away and finished strongly under 1:05.
Seth was hoping for low 1:04's. First race since August. I think this demonstrates that time-trials are no substitute for tuneup races. Racing and training are two different animals. The reason rust-busters are needed is to shock the system back into what for the body and mind to feels like in the race day pain.
Good result for him, although like most of us we are at time overconfident and tend to forget how hard it is to race fast and exceed past results.
May have been ideal for FL, but 70% humidity at 56deg was a step up in intensity for the folks training in Colorado.
It is what it is. His next peak race (I think) is a marathon.

He's not disciplined enough to run either time.
