Not sure how or why the best track program in the state gets to be part of a thread about something/someone completely different.
Hey, it’s Let’s Run, let’s just make crap up, right?

I agree that is has gotten off topic but you can clearly read the thread to see why it was brought up. They're not the best track program in the state.
Regardless I won't be commenting on this anymore unless it's relevant to the original topic.
there is currently nothing of concern or actively wrong at tech. the school is mentioned in this thread bc HU's new track coach came from Tech.
Some of us were loosely referring to the problem's tech had, with an early coach in that program, that are similar to the issues being discussed at HU (coaching behavior around women).

If I am a college coach/AD, Huntington is not coming to my meet. Start there. Make it nearly imposibble for them to compete. Then maybe people will start paying attention at HU that this is not acceptable.
Also start by boycotting their spring track meet as well. Most that attend are private Christian universities that are against what the current administration is doing, so why support it?

The story just broke on the Indy Star. It costs 1 dollar to read, but it's worth it.
What's the gist of it?
Is this the same article, just not paywalled?
-Toxic environment
-Coach having sex with athletes
-PEDs
All for the NAIA…
The main article is behind a paywall. I think your link is to a summary. It includes this allegation:
"A lawsuit filed on behalf of two former HU students Sept. 30 alleges Johnson had sex with two student-athletes and forced pills and injections on his runners."
So doping and potential sexual abuse. I have a low opinion regarding the general character of the professional runner community because doping sports are always a sordid affair. But whenever I see pro runners or coaches around high school or college distance athletes my alarm bells go off. The only thing that keeps high school and college running being a relative safe harbor from the doping culture in the pro ranks is the decision not to engage in it, and that decision is very easy to reverse if the people coaching the sport on this level are already comfortable with doping in their own careers and impart that doping culture onto their junior athletes.
Regarding the initial allegations that started this thread, people showed a remarkable inability to read between the lines and to figure out why threads were being deleted.
Federal lawsuit is alleges negligence by his wife. For all those who thought she could somehow be innocent of all this too.
I don't know about the allegations of toxic environment/sexual abuse and whether she was negligent or an enabler, but I would almost guarantee that she would have played a role in doping the athletes given her background.
Wasn’t she herself an athlete with a remarkable, later career improvement?
Also, I will be paying to get past this paywall to read it. Support this work.
“I have no problem with mu husband manipulating and sexually abusing his athletes. But doping!? Now that’s where I draw the line!”
An allegation of negligence is different than an allegation of intentional conduct.
