I guess the many, many athletes that went to New Mexico as underdeveloped and then became great just happened due to........magic. No matter whether you like Joe or not his resume is as good as almost anyone in the country. If you know so much then please list all the collegiate coaches who have accomplished more than Joe with both genders??? I'll help you..Mark Wetmore at Colorado.....please educate me on others.
Eyestone, Lananna, Schumacher for a few. Most of Joe's athletes are pretty far along before he gets them. It's hard to give him too much credit when most of his roster is comprised of established foreign athletes and transfers. Name a recent American that developed under his mentorship (non-foreign or non-transfer). How many walk-ons has he turned into All Americans? Those are the marks of great coaches. Numerous coaches have won championships by going the foreign route, fewer have done it developing overlooked domestic talent.
