Way too optomistic.
The lockdowns will result in permanent damage to society
How do people come across these obscure youtube channels and actually watch this stuff? You do realize that 90% of youtube is an absolute cesspool and should be avoided at all cost because Google is openly manipulating you for profit.
Take that time to read a book or do some type of self improvement or just box a clown and take a nap. I guarantee that will make you feel way better than spending almost an hour and a half watching that.
Yeah trolling LetsRun is a way better use of your time.

Yeah why aren't you watching CNN like you're supposed to?

This guy was on the Joe Rogan Experience this week. I think Joe's guests have been very honest about Covid. This guy however was super overragerating and completely ridiculous. Clearly, an elitist liberal academic who is out of touch with 90% of the real world. Rogan even stopped him on a couple of incidents to question some of the claims he made that were not supported.
He tried to claim 1% of people infected with Covid die, then clarified to .6 to .8%, which is not true, actually closer to .2%
He tried to claim that Trump almost died during Covid, then that Trump was acting Manic due to his infection and the medications he was on. Clearly, he hasn't seen how Trump behaves for the past 30 years.
He claimed on 12% of the US has been infected at this point. Way, way more.
Was completely dismissive of the immunity gained once you beat the virus. Also tried to gloss over Rogan's point that there has been zero push for people to live healthier which would improve Covid survival rates.
Just a few but overall it was like listening to a recap of all CNN's most tired narrative. The guys understanding of science and points he made were not even at a high school level.
As someone who is definitely right or Liberatarian I usually enjoy JRE episodes with the leftist thinkers because they are usually people like Bret Weinstein or Jordan Peterson who are honest and thoughtful and not married to their ideology and usually I walk away with some new perspective. This guy represented none of that.
If you want to waste two hours of your life here you go.

Owned? OWNED? I know you fascist freaks yearn for the good old days of slavery but you really had to OWN up to it? Your side won’t appreciate your candor.

I think the left needs to look up the definition of Fascist or Authoritarian. Because pretty sure the side saying we don't want to tell the public what to do, we want them to be able to decide and act according to what they feel is their own best interest does not really reflect the fascist definition. When Trump actually tries a coup or refuses to leave office then we can revisit this discussion, but until then he's respected judicial authority and executive limitations much more so than Obama or Bush.
Glad you were able to also throw in the you all still want slavery narrative as well. I wonder why so much of the country was so disenfranchised with the left that they elected Trump once and almost a second time. Definitely has nothing to do with the way the Left has continued to characterize them.
Whoa! Pump the brakes buddy.
1. I don't agree with the 2024 prediction
2. Ok, you can argue the fatality rate but I think it may be higher then the low estimates. I need to see some actual data on asymptomatics. My guess is 0.5% right now.
3. 12% could be a perfectly reasonable estimate. Perhaps too HIGH. 3.6% have tested positive. I doubt more than 3 or 4x that are actual positives. My suspicion is 2.5-3x.
4. Rogan is knucklehead.
People. Look at what has happened in the last 5 years. This is the tip of the iceberg. We are part of the demise of this world. And, we have no one to blame but ourselves. the polar ice caps melting, hundreds of tons of garbage dumped weekly into our oceans (and that's just the barges leaving NYC), climate change, the "me" movement, vs. "us" (i.e. staring at a phone, not engaging in conversation, or putting in ear buds and not listening to anyone, looking at phones while driving..) the rage against police ( not all a re bad), growth of childhood obesity, growth in hacking and ruining someone's life for no reason, the riots from an election (because you didn't win? so you destroy storefronts?) The ruining of natural parks, wetlands and so forth. the decline of bees!! Growth of home invasions, road rage,. Lack of interest or support of trades
FYI ladies; ( most plumbers make over $80k, and they know how to fix things) The rage against our military and the decline in the enrollment in all of our militaries. The beheading of so many statues, some that were no even part of any racial injustices.
I hope Biden unifies this country. But who will help this world? We are looking at the beginning of the end!

Lol now Jordan Peterson is a "leftist" thinker.
You become a bigger parody of yourself with every post Primo.

He's basically a leftist apart from the fact that he supports free speech (which I guess disqualifies you from being leftist nowadays?)

Was essentially saying Left Leaning. Obviously, he's not alt-left. Definitely pretty close to the center. I know the liberal outlets call him conservative because he is free speaking and very vocally outspoken against the radical left. But my point was people not married to their views or the views of the political ideology.
Primo you are a libertarian. That is fine but you would be first in line for a government handout when you need it. I know your type well.
<--- this guy has been very accurate at modeling the 1st and second waves.
Site was relaunched to estimate true infections. Their model estimates ~14.5% of the US has been infected in total (CI: 9.8%-21.5%)
12% seems reasonable - he knows more than I do!
IFR of 0.5% seems reasonable right now. We've maybe gotten 1.5-2x times better at treating cases.
No doubt IFR was close to 1% in the first wave.
I like Christakis. Primo, you should like him too -- him and his wife fought a famous anti-SJW battle over Halloween costumes at Yale.
