Daniels tempos are not 20 min at HM pace, but 20 min at 1-hour race pace. For elite runners, yea that's ~HM pace but most on LR are between 1:15-1:40 for the half so a Daniel's tempo is significantly harder than HM pace for them.[/quote]
If you want to use mins, running 20 mins at 60 min pace is doable. Running 20 mins at 30min pace is very hard to do in a workout. For most runners we are talking about a 10-15s gap in paces which requires the runner to. use some discipline and keep it easy early on. A pretty useful skill for any runner.
