Wish I knew what pace Sarah Hall was running... this is the problem with spectating the sport; I can't get the info that I care about. I'm left hoping that the commentator mentions the athlete I care about plus the info about that athlete (proj. finish given pace; current pace; etc).
Kosgei running on the outside has to run a longer line.

Is Sara Hall wearing ALPHAFLY? Bigger stack on them shoes than metaracer anyway . . .
I was wondering about this. Hard to tell without a closeup, but it kind of looks that way from the broadcast. Same color, at the very least.
But, but.....it's not about the shoes.
Of course the shoes factor into the race!

02:20:42 is her current predicted finish........., which would be a HUGE PR.
Slam a beer every time you hear the ‘pace is too hot’
At 20k Jemeli dropping off and Bekere dropping Vivian and Megertu
Athletics Weekly Twitter account are popping up 5k splits, Hall through 15k in 50.01

What happened to the Ethiopian female marathon runners? The past 3 years or so, they seem to be just picking the leftover crumbs of the Kenyans. Look at London, the last Ethiopian to win it was Tufa in 2015.
I thought with Dibaba and Defar switching to the marathon, Ethiopia had a big shot, even WR. Dibaba did quite well in 2017, coming second in London in 2017 (2:17:56) and wining Chicago in 2:18:31. But after that, except her 3rd place finish in Berlin in 2018 in 2:18:55, I don't remember any interesting race results ( I think she had a baby, so don't know her status now...). Defar, on the other hand, was not impressive at all. I don't think she even broke 2:22.

No. Prototype of some ASICS. Early on they mentioned she got permission from WA to drop out in them.
Wait, wat? You're (hopefully) not saying she has to eventually drop out in order to where the shoes?
Greetings everyone. Just got up. 3 questions.
1. Have I missed anything race wise?
2. What's the protcol here? Am I allowed to crack open a beer? Normally I try not to drink before 12 noon but is this still considered night?
3. Which broadcast should I listen to? Who is on the NBC Sports gold feed? Who is the woman color commentator on the international feed? It sounds like on the US feed with commercials that I'm getting Paul Swangard, Deena Kastor and Amy Kastor.
On the commercial free feed, I've only been listening for 30 seconds, but it's driving me nuts as their is no background noise. It's too quiet. On the US feed, I at least here the cards.
But which broadcast should I listen to? Both are pissing me off.
I must be in a bad mood - maybe I will go for the beer.
