Let me explain why you're wrong. Nike has disappeared from a lot of local running shops. My local stores get a few Pegasus and Structures each season but Nike won't cooperate beyond that. Despite being the biggest retailer in my midwest city, they have NEVER had a Vaporfly in the store.
The trolls is trying to pull your leg. The only thing true is that some stores do have actual stock, while internets say something else.
But what you said is more true = fewer place are allowed to carry them.
And for mr. pants-down, he knows these are a rare shoe and knows that he could just go buy and resell for $100+ on ebay etc so there's either no way or a total moran.
Actually, as mentioned in my original post and again since then, pants never came down. I literally did not get excited seeing them. I did not need to hide the rise in my trousers. I was not under the impression that they were either rare or hard to get. Neither was the store in question (not juanito's store and in another part of the country). You know who else did not consider them to be worth $100 more than MSRP? All of that particular store's clientele. Admittedly that's not a whole lot of people, but the reason I know that is because some E-Bay enthusiast did not come in and buy all of them the day they got into the shop. Why is it hard to believe that the pink and green were both sitting on the wall - not in a glass case with flashing lights and arrows pointing to it, but quite literally near random Brooks and Mizuno and stuff nobody here is excited about? And no, I wasn't aware that they were incredibly valuable and that I should have bought the whole stock. How could I have been when every store I'd walked into had them in stock? Apparently not the case with online retailers according to all of you.
Hey look, it seems as though a Nike intern has started this thread to pump up the hype, but don't be shocked when someone who doesn't consider a particular shoe to be worth it's weight in gold posts. I am not interested in the particular shoes in question. There are others that I am more excited about. I regularly buy all kinds of stuff the driver of this thread considers wasteful, including non-Nike shoes. I really don't have a dog this fight, but for those of you that do, let me say I was just weighing in by recommending going to a brick-and-mortar store as opposed to the internet. That's what I did. And there they were!
