Multiple thousands of university students have tested positive for Covid-19, but with few or no symptoms. A small percentage of those it hits like a bad flu and lays them up for a while. Only the tiniest fraction need to be hospitalized, and almost all of those recover. Yes, here and there a few die … and we freak out.
You suggest there are "dozens of articles just like this one." If so, can you produce 23 more? And what do you know about these (supposedly) many students who died? Do the articles reveal co-morbidities? Never. You'll never read an article that says, "Oh, by the way, the student in question was obese and had diabetes type 2." But with the levels of both in the normal non-active population., it's getting to the point that soon the likelihood of such co-morbities is exceptionally high.
I remember when putting silver nitrate in the eyes of newborns was standard practice. Doctors didn't even ask if you wanted it for your child. Because a tiny, tiny fraction of all mothers in the population (mostly those who were sleeping arouond) had gonorrhea and infected their newborn's eyes with it, the medical community thought it would be best to treat the eyes of all newborns with this caustic chemical.
