How long before the conspiritards start discussing the length of the track?

Very impressive from Foppen. Hadn't even heard his name before this meet. I guess the pace was just too hot for the rest of the pack, they didn't show any footage of them at all.
Everyone is way over-valuing the dragonflies imo.
Just because Nike’s cheatershoes are re-writing the record books, the spikes really aren’t doing much. Legit there’s not even a carbon plate in the spikes, they just have the new foam which I can’t imagine is doing that much over 5km like it does in saving your legs over 26.2.
Cheptegei is just the goat, read it n weep, bussies.

Short tracks are old news, it's the spikes now.

i can't help but wonder about the spikes..they took moh ahmed to 12:47
"they took moh ahmed"...
Are you talking about shoes or cars. With shoes you can only run, they don't "take" you anywhere.
I'm so happy about Cheptegei. HE DID IT!!!

Kimeli died his way to a 12:51. Damn. What a run for them both.
Wasn't Kimeli's PR like 13:13 or something? Great race for him
No, 12:57.90 was his prior PR.
Jakob wore them as well.
WR is legit.
Cheptegei is next level talent.

You mean when they're done talking about the shoes?
The camera was retarded. It was zoomed in on Cheptegei the whole last lap so we couldn't see where he was on the track. Couldn't even see him cross the finish line.
So apparently, the WR for the women's 1000 is 2:28.98 (per the live results website).

Can someone explain the deal with the spikes?
They have ZoomX foam and a carbon plate. Nothing illegal or suspect.
TBH the wavelight should be more controversial than the spikes. But to be honest it's a world record attempt, of course they should have literally perfect pacing. In regular races they should stick to actual pacers IMO

Insane meet with insane races by Cheruiyot + Jakob (Cheruiyot 3:26-shape if he doesn’t do in-n-outs for the first two laps) and beyond insane by Cheptegei... but I can’t help but feel bad for Bekele considering Cheptegei had superior shoes + monaco + light technology...
Cheptegei wasn’t even watching the lights, did he even know they were there? Insane.
I think you can watch out of corner of eye..especially the first two pacers which is where the record can be won/lost.
Just look how even the splits were, it has to be at least a bit of an advantage

Yeah, that was bad production.
Cheptegei for the next Quadruple Double + World Record in 5 and 10, Mo Farah soon to be forgotten with his tactical sprints.
So even if Bekele break the marathon, he can no longer hold the all three WR

For reals. The wave don't lie:
AP TIMES
1 1:00.70
2 1:01.70
3 1:00.64
4 1:00.41
5 1:01.25
6 1:00.91
7 1:00.03
8 1:00.10
9 1:00.18
10 1:00.33
11 59.97
12 59.64
All right y'all convinced me, spikes don't make the runner and this WR is legit.
Bekele's will always be impressive, going from 3k out, but Cheppy is the new WRRRRRR!!!!!
true, but neither did geb when he got the marathon wr
Cheptegei was just so consistent, so smooth, knocking out 60 and sub 60s after the pacers, for what NBC chose to show, that is (who cares about a legit world record attempt after 16 years? Good time for commercials and Mondo, right?). 12:35.36 officially, 2.01 s under Bekele's time. Helps to have the light pacing, but it does not help to have that weather.
Tim's performance in the 1500m was remarkable. To go sub 53 and then hold off Jakob and Jake like that took strength. They looked much fresher and I thought that they might take him. They did not, and that was after a 2:47 (?) 1200m for Tim. But I did not realize how fast the chasers were at 1300m. Jacob was absolutely sub 3:30 capable last year when he slowed up a bit at the end behind Tim at Lausanne, costing him sub 3:30. But this was very impressive to run 3:28 with no pacers and no drafting until the last 300m--shades of Mo's European record, but this was even faster. It is very good to see Jacob break through like this, skipping the 3:29s entirely. And I think he is still 19 until September 20.
