The Ingebrigtsens will not attend the meet, trust me.
Contracting covid and risking to permanently lose even 0.5% lung capacity would be catastrophic.
The risk simply doesn't outweigh the potential reward. Sucks for the fans, but it is how it is.

Any little excuse to avoid getting smashed at Monaco.

I agree that the Ingebrigtsens (and all other professional athletes) should be very concerned about the virus which reportedly can damage not only the lungs, but also the heart, the brain, the stomach and more.
Contracting the virus can in worst case be the end of the career!
So even though I am looking forward very much to Monaco I will accept if they decide not to go.

Why should especially Jakob be smashed in Monaco. He has already some time ago run a 2000m which indicates a 1500m time close to 3:30.
Nobody else have run close to that this year in the 1500m.
It will even be natural if Jakob goes into Monaco on a higher level than in the Impossible Games after 2 months more of training and possibly also after tapering up to this probably most inportant meet in the season.
I know from the Norwegian media that Jakob already for months has been looking forward to competing again.
Filip and Henrik also seem to be in good shape so I don´t think they are afraid of being "smashed" in Monaco either.
