The biggest criticisms leveled against Trump are that he didn't take actions soon enough and you are trying to justify the exact timing of every action - meaning you are supporting Trump's handling of the virus.
Because of Fauci's recommendations, we went from 24 total to 3.5 million cases. That's horrible and it's Fauci's fault.
Up to 60% protection is still DAMN GOOD. Fauci DID NOT tell people to wear a mask to get that 60% protection. He even LIED and said that masks will make you more likely to get COVID. That's UNFORGIVABLE and you should be ashamed for even defending this guy.
Trump should have started preparations in January, stockpiling PPE, and ramping up testing, instead of calling it a democratic hoax, making the pandemic political, and setting up the conflict that caused the general failure in the US.
Trump lied to the American public when he said it was contained, under control, and would disappear by April.
CDC did not know until late March, early April about the significance of asymptomatic spread. Enforcing lockdowns, stay at home, social distancing and cloth masks would have contained it by end of April, as it did in virtually every other country in the world.
It's not Fauci's fault. The poor execution of Fauci's and the CDC's clear recommendations by the Trump Administration caused the national failure, and led to the current situation of 3.5 million cases.
For example, Fauci did not say masks were optional, after April 3rd, and did not recommend tweeting "Liberate Michigan", nor recommend re-opening states early. On the contrary, he repeatedly cautioned against skipping steps.
It is not a lie to say there can be unintended consequences to wearing masks.
We did not know about 30-60% until two weeks after Fauci and CDC already clearly recommended the general public wear cloth masks.
You should be ashamed for your lack of understanding what Fauci and the CDC were saying back in February and March, and for lying about it now.
