The so-called Hippocratic oath is not really an oath at all, it is a bromide that people mumble to get their licenses. It has no legal or morally binding power.

He is our best source of honest information as a counter to all the lies this administration has told.
Nothing will get you fired more quickly in this administration than honesty.
He has been shunned by trump for the past two months, the Fauci character assassination has started. He will be gone soon.
(Many experts said what he did early on about masks.)

This. Our knowledge of this insipid disease is evolving and Fauci has evolved along with it. Should we get rid of the guy who said it will disappear like a miracle in March? Or that we have 15 cases and pretty soon it'll be down to zero? Or let's look into injecting disinfectants and light into our bodies? How about 99% of the positive cases have no symptoms or side effects? The problem in the US right now is we have zero leadership. We've put a moron in charge of our lives and we're paying for it with our lives.
Fauci was wrong at a point. That being said, as the understanding of the virus progressed he corrected his position. There were also other considerations (shortage of PPEs) at the time. Let's put it this way: If Fauci's bad guidance at the beginning of the crisis was so impactful, why did NYC and other Northern cities, states etc. have near-universal mask-wearing in April to present day? The simple explanation is people listen to the updated advice of some combination of local leaders, national leaders and public health experts. Do the math and you'll find where 2 of these 3 groups were saying "Wear a Mask" most people did. Meanwhile, Trump and some of his stooges on the local level endangered and deepened the Pandemic as they obscured what public health experts were saying and made mask-wearing political.
He thought it was the hypocrite oath.
Trump is desperate, he’s trying to throw someone under the bus for his own shortcomings. It’s what he does.
But we seen through it, the empower has no clothes and it’s not a pretty sight ?
Barely half the docs take the Hippocratic oath...google it.

m8 all doctors break it...
Doesn't really matter if he did.
as Hippocrates ,even in his time, was a medical dietician, not a medical doctor/ physician.

You do realize he claimed that he lied to the public at the beginning of the pandemic?
He also played a major role is destroying our economy and causing undue anxiety to people through his incompetence. This has done far more damage than the virus could have.
The lesson is it is ok to consult and epidemiologist on infectious diseases but others need to make the decision on what to do at the end of the day. If we always listened to these group's recommendations we would have shut the world down multiple times in the past few decades. They are stuck in their viral bubble and have no concept of the larger world function.
But the lying about masks was bad. Fauci doesn't treat the US population like adults, he thinks he knows what's better for us then we do. Trump should kick him out.

So, the virus isn't that bad and Fauci and other ID experts have unnecessarily caused panic by over blowing the pandemic. But, Fauci needs to be held accountable for saying it wasn't necessary to wear masks?
Seems like you are going to need to pick one or the other. Either the virus is bad (it is) and Fauci failed by not recommending masks early on or the virus isn't bad and it doesn't matter whether Fauci recommended masks.

In all likelihood this is the case

He is the one who claimed he lied when he said. Personally, I think he as telling the truth when he said masks were not helpful and later lied when he claimed he originally lied

Not so.
He clearly lied one way or the other. He should shut-up

Yep, time for Trump to shut it.

Oh you don’t know?
I’m a conservative by the way.
Umm no. It can be true that the virus is much less severe than he has made it out to be while also saying that he lied about the effectiveness of masks. Masks don't stop the spread of a virus but any face shield will offer some protection from the spread of disease, there is medical workers have worn masks for years.
This highlights my problem with Fauci, he believes he knows what's best for us and we are not adult enough to decide. He's afraid people will hoard masks, be an adult and say while masks will slow the spread we have a shortage and need to save the PPE for healthcare workers temporarily, here's a face-covering you can fashion at home can provide a level of protection while we build up PPE levels. The majority of Americans will act like adults if you are honest and explain why you're doing things believe it or not. The reason we have this mass divisiveness and refusal for everyone to get together is we have been fed a constant stream of BS from almost all angles from the start. If we the leaders of this country were honest about what we did and didn't know from the start it would have made the public willing to accept the initial lockdown measures and as we have learned the virus is not much more serious than the flu we have doubled down on the lies rather than admit we were overly cautious.
Now in California we're rolling back our freedoms again because the spread is out of control and our hospital capacity is about to be overloaded. People need to look into it when the media lies about our hospital capacity being overloaded. Here's the actual data for California. Our Covid ICU patient load would need to quadruple before we run out of beds. In LA where our dear mayor is acting like its armagedon there are roughly 630 COVID ICU patients(not all are confirmed COVID), and over 1500 available beds. The health care system in California has never been even close to stressed yet we are being slammed with messages of being on the verge of overload and our freedoms continue to be taken away. People need to not accept everything they read or are told and do some research. I'm glad my state had this data so easily accessible to disprove the lies the politicians are telling us. For fun, I linked a fear-mongering article, that you can check against the chart. They create a new measurement of ICU capacity to make it appear Riverside County is about to run out of beds.
I honestly haven't looked at the data as much from other states as I'm more interested in what's happening locally, but if you dig in there I'm sure you will find similar levels of BS. If you look at individual states ICU and hospital capacity as a whole, no state is anywhere close to at capacity.

Almost right -- just two things wrong:
- He was not untruthful
- He admitted no such thing
and one part wrong:
- it caused some harm, but not much since case counts were low
Here's what really happened:
Jan-Feb-March -- not many cases; no reason for the healthy to wear a mask, just the sick, or medical workers-- keep medical grade masks for medical works because there is a shortage.
April -- community spread is rising; new research shows many infected are asymptomatic; everyone could be sick and not know it so should wear something on their face, a cloth mask, a bandana, a neck warmer, underwear, a bra, anything but medical grade masks -- keep that for medical works because there is a shortage.
No need to reply -- look back at historical reporting, case rates, CDC guidelines, surgeon general warnings, etc.
