greg, you don't get "tested" for asd - they don't scan your brain and give you a positive or negative. You get diagnosed, and diagnosis is somewhat subjective
This blew up my relationship with my brother. I insisted something was amiss and I would try to help (take him for summer) even have him attend child mild institute.
Brother and his wife insist nada wrong. MDs say nothing wrong. Years of testing finally came up with auditory processing disorder but by then golden time was gone.
I just think for any child. Here's what they know and what they don't. Here's next step to work on. Autism, spectrum, gifted or otherwise. But by goodness, be honest.

I must have a visual processing disorder, since I I don't comprend what you are writing. What is your point, again?

His brother has autism. The poster tried to take him for the summer. It blew up their relationship. Be honest!
What aren't you understanding?

Testing is important. We should all be tested ... how else will we get a handle on this?

every citizen must be tested for autism
I'm 48 and I believe I'm on the autistic spectrum. I considered this at around the age of 42, after looking at my patterns over the course of my life.
I can identify with you. If I am in fact autistic, I'm high functioning.
One big part of your attitude that may or may not be related to ASD is your acceptance of having a disorder in relation to other people. It allows people who don't take responsibility for their own actions to blame you for their problems, and you become sort of a sponge for abuse from these people. Because they can say YOU are the person with a disorder, not them. You need to watch out for that. Even if you are autistic, you can still be quite self-aware, and aware of what other people are doing and stand up for yourself and not let people do that. That goes a long way towards being more mentally healthy.
You should post stories about situations in your life where your perceived autism, if existent at all has effected you.
You claim I have a disorder in relating to people. You are gauging from some posts on this board I presume and looking at some of the drama that occurs from time to time.
Do you ever think for yourself 'hey, it's just someone posting on a message board, I'm not going to read into it too much?'

No, I agree with Trump. Too much testing, slow the tests down.
