They might've had a shot to tie Hammond High's 3 sub 9 2 milers if their 3rd man got a little faster if they had an actual season, really solid team though .
What someone else mentioned about a good guy getting overshadowed by an even better dude reminded me of something I read about Jeff Nelson. One of his teammates was a 9:01/4:16 guy but he was running with a guy who ran 8:36.
I think it's similar to the college atmosphere. How many sub 4 hs guys do we have, a few. But there's a lot more freshmen in college who do it, but it's because they have experienced and talented guys to key off of and if they adjust well they can run fast.
