Ok, I was a student-athlete overseas as well. Learned English as a third language…
You must have some connections with NC State athletes and/or staff, or you wouldn’t have access to inside information on KT’s training results/schedule.
That spy balloon that was shot down off the coast of North Carolina actually belonged to Semi. She's got a copy of everything on NC State's servers.
These numbers are overly conservative since conversions of indoor to outdoor times already gets you there, and a bit more.
Those are the world championship standards, not a prediction of what she could do. Sorry if that wasn't clear. She needs to have run faster than 14:57 5k to hit the standard for 2023
Got it! They looked like predictions. At any rate, she should be able meet the WCS, based on indoor performance and running at the same effort level she’s already established. I see no problem for her, given her recent numbers. Of course, the opportunity to run needs to be executed. I guess her claim that indoors just sets you up for outdoors does hold…along with some level of uncertainty of it not having been achieved yet.
I think having a second pacer for other than Monson and Cranny helped Morgan and Tuohy. Cranny and Henes who went with Monson faded, while Morgan and Tuohy moved up.

For sure. Citius mag said that Diljeet Taylor commented that was the plan, that Morgan would hang back and then scoop people up. I wish one of these media outlets would interview Morgan. Would love to know what her training has been looking like and what is next for her.
It's still amazing to see all those PB's! Every single one in the top 8! What a race!
adds to why katelyn's 3rd place is very impressive
its not like everyone had an off race, literally almost everyone PB'd and still katelyn was able to pass them
Yes. Extremely impressive. Kind of reminds me of Kelsey Chmiel in the xc championships. She beat every other top runner in the NCAA and wasn't that far behind Valby.
so out of the topic but yea ahhahah kelsey is awesome
You are correct. Katelyn is on her own level. Three NCAA records in two races, what a way to start the season (I know there was one in December, but that turned out to be just a qualifier - nothing wrong with that.)
Now she's had a break and has all cylinders in peak performance.
Wonder how it feels to coach someone to beat your kid
this 💀
katelyn is thriving with coach henes, i wonder if she will coach katelyn on her bid for the 2024 paris olympics !???
millrose games is not too serious, its an invitational and theres nothing at stake but will she coach katelyn to beat her own daughter to make the US team?
katelyn will run 5000m at ACC Championships to break the indoor collegiate record
Do you mean Sisson's 15:12 i5000m record or Simpson 15:01 i5000m unofficial (on the oversized track)? I am guessing she goes for the Sisson record since ACCs are so close to championships

This is very impressive. However, as a non-American, I feel I should point out 20 years old is fairly fully developed. Also, global times have moved on. Another poster equates this performance to a 14:45 5000m. I feel one must run at least under 14:35 to be considered world class these days. Tuohy may or may not achieve this in the next year or two.
