my longshot-biased-because-he’s-my-friend prediction is that Alex Maier of Oklahoma state will beat Nico Young and break the collegiate record in 7:34.

He beat young at 5000m and 8k

lost at 10k

and they have very similar mile prs

Last minute flights from Dallas to NYC are about $700. I have the usual friends up calling me to hurry up and get to the meet. I would get on a plane right now if I could find it under $300.

If one can't be there live than Letsrun is the next best thing.

I feel your pain. Have made it there for about 8 of the last 15 Millrose Games including some at the Garden. It's a blast but pretty far to travel for 4 hours of action. LetsRun and NBC will have to do again this year.

Do you think Fisher is doing the right thing and blowing off the best US based competition and heading to Europe instead? It’s a bit of a flex that’s he’s doing this. He certainly could run a super fast time at Millrose and race with his teammate, Teare.

I will apologize if Lyles runs faster than 6.51. I am expecting him to run no faster than 6.54

Women’s 3,000 prediction: Katelyn Tuohy runs 8:44

Don’t think we’ll see the NCAA record fall today, but I think 8:44 is on the table for Tuohy. I’d be pretty surprised to see her push sub 8:42 based on her recent mile.

Pretty small margins you’re working with there, 8:44 vs. 8:41. Nothing about her recent NCAA record mile finishing 0.77 behind Monson suggests she can’t run 8:41 (though of course, that’s a great time so I’m not saying it’s a given or anything, just that you have no basis for your claim).
