She was at the tail end of the pack, which strung out pretty quick. The leaders were 70-71 pace through 2K and then the pace picked up. She was probably 72, 2:24, which would have been right on for 15:00-15:05. Didn't see where she dropped, but seemed like 2K or so.

Many people are great at doing workouts with any sort of recovery and can't string anything together without recovery. Jordan is one of those people.

I think she is best at time trialing. Also, who is timing her in the workouts? It could be that the timer is fudging results a bit to make her seem faster or give her a false confidence boost.

Look. It's obvious. She had a 15:28 pr and the leaders were out in 8:46. Her 3k pr is in that territory, a few seconds ahead of that at best. So, obviously, she realized she was in way over her head. This was sort of similar to what Vin did to Verzbicas, throwing him into an NCAA xc race (where he finished 62nd) when he was not in shape to hang with those guys after a long tri season. You don't throw your athletes into something they can't handle at all unless they need a mental check to work harder. She doesn't need that.

As for the claim that she adds interest, etc., I attended the Paris DL meet when Wheating ran 1:44 in his first European race. Believe me that the crowd had no clue who any of the American middle and distance runners were, unless Lagat was there that day.

She has NEVER broken 15:25. Her lifetime PB is not as fast as Freshman Erin Finn. It is all hype. She is a pretty good female runner. NOT GREAT. She was a great HS runner and a very good collegiate. She is not a great PRO. This happens all the time.

The excuse for her not running fast in college was because she had to focus on the team and points. Now, she is running with the "great" AlSal, what excuse is stopping her? Arguably she has access to the best treatment, facilities etc. JH is a great runner, but as the previous poster said, she's not a great pro, and she is not competitive world class. She has always been over hyped because of her success in high school, but as we are seeing, peaking as a youngster doesn't necessarily transpire into a phenomenal athlete in the pro world. Someone needs to give her a reality check because AlSal is obviously feeding her feel good comments.

She would be a good half marathoner but only in low-key races.

Who is coaching Hall? This would have been a perfect race for JH.

Her next race should be in Hykylati, Finland.

Finland for Hall or Hasay. JH went back to the states.

She may technically run up with Shannon, but I have to imagine that she's working a lot harder than Shannon to hit the same times. Perhaps this is a deliberate strategy by Salazar, but it might also be running Jordan into the ground or giving her false confidence. Seems like she'd be better off training with Cain since they'd probably complement each other nicely between the faster stuff and the longer stuff.

This is all just a preamble to the marathon. It has been clear for literally years that, if Jordan is to be world class material, it will be at distances over 10k. It remains to be seen if this is the case.

If Saladbar sees JH as a marathoner, then why he isn't training her for the mara is strange?

Jordan is not fast enough to be a world class marathoner.

She'll maybe be 31:00 to 31:10 and 2:25 to 2:27 someday. Pretty good but the haters are still gonna hate. This is is letsrun dot com and that's what they do here.
