I made that prediction some ten years ago. There is so much money involved that the best athletes are aiming for the marathon. Therefore together with all kind of scientific research they should be able to smash the times set by "old track runners "like Haile by a huge margin. 2:01:39 is in the ball park but I still think that he can improve. Someone is going to run sub 2h in next 5 years.
