Amazing field. Girma must still be super fit, no? Too bad Jakob did not sign up for this one too.
Hmmm. Maybe time for Girma to stop being known as a SC specialist. Maybe this guy should just focus on the 5000.
Disagree. Girma only has to worry about El Bakkali in the steeple and today he showed he can drop him. Much tougher competition in the 5k with Jakob and the other Africans.
Also want to give credit to the pacer Kyumbe Munguti, he did a terrific job running even 60s the whole way.
I swear most of the top Ethiopians seem to always be in great shape (whether it's early May, August etc). The only downside of this is there's less potential for them to greatly improve between now and Budapest.

Yes, I get that, but EB seems to have super powers when their are barriers. Anyway, isn't it a far more impressive achievement to be the 5000 world champion? Love to see Girma race Jakob when they are both fit. Beating Jakob >> beating El Bakkali IMO.

Maybe so, but I'd want a gold medal no matter how it comes if I was in Girma's shoes. Is the double feasible in Budapest?
19.92 for Kerley. If you didn't see the race, that time is misleading as the wind is listed officially as +0.2 but trust me the wind hurt them a lot. The wind was blowing almost perpendicular to the finish line (slight diagonal) and it was basically straight into their faces on the first turn.
Yes the last 100, it helped them a tiny bit but it was pretty much a cross wind at that point but it's hard to battle it at the start. If they'd run the race in the other direction, trust me they would have run much faster even though the wind would have technically had been a negative wind.
