Now that the WR is out of her way, I hope she attempts the 15/5k double at worlds. She has tremendous potential in the 5000m.
I must be honest in that I’m a little concerned that she’s also with the Patrick Sang group. Having two significant outliers in a group like that is extremely abnormal.
The mss as m she was hugging after the race is Valentijn- also the same man you’d have seen riding the bike alongside kipchoge in the first Breaking2.
I truly want it to be true. There’s even a part of me that doesn’t care if it’s not. That last lap and effortless turnover was nothing short of majestic.
Great race. Obviously you can't compare it due to the tactics, but this would have beaten Centro in 2016. Wonder if a natal female will break 4 in the full mile sometime this century.
Well we know about KT at least. But nothing gold can stay in this sport.
We do?
I take it you don't believe in Wejo's law: "You only know about yourself"?
PS Your utter lack of consistency about your favorites makes me think you must be one of those Harvard grads who believes that bit about consistency being the hobgoblin of small minds.
Yawn. When she runs a time that is remotely suspect let us know. Meanwhile a runner straight of Kipchoge's training group tops the most doped out of all-time lists in history and destroys a doping time by a full second and the clowns on here are like "How dare you!?"
How is it that nobody has pointed she broke this world record while being a Mom? Why is nobody talking about this? Wasn't there an American sprinter who retired a year or two ago who was a Mom and got no end of credit for it?
I don't watch to begin with. I just find it laughable that every so often on this board people celebrate complete nonsense as if it is actually real, and come up with increasingly dumb excuses to ignore the obvious. Metrics of performance and a slew of doping busts as the old excuses get obliterated are good enough for me.
Yes its called doping. The chemicals are very powerful. The Chinese ran 3:50 in the early 1990s on that basis, and anyone who follows them is doing the same, starting with Dibaba. I don't pretend that a complete athletic fraud is real. Then again, as long as it stays in the pro ranks, pretend away.
Well if we’re going there just remember the Americans are also in that mix. For sure. That sudden “breakthrough “ one that keeps dropping her times beyond any realism (ahem OAC) is a definite
When she runs a time that is remotely suspect let us know.
Honest question: What time would KT have to run to make you suspicious? What progression over the next few years would get you thinking, "Gee, maybe..."?
PS My two cents: Anyone who knows or works with/for professional athletes knows that Wejo's law is the only way to keep your sanity and dignity.
Tuohy came down here to NC for that Marion Jones juice. And talk about a physical transformation! She looks way more muscular than she did about a year or so.
Another honest question: How much are the shoes and the perfect pacing worth? 2 seconds? 3? 4?
Looking at the DL speed & lead charts and splits, it's clear that FK is a true outlier. She starts her windup before anyone else, and while they are surging, she keeps running faster and faster. Muir and Hull, on the other hand, were clearly out of gas on the last lap. They slow down dramatically, but were just way too far ahead for the masses to catch them.
Peacock TV. I got the annual membership. Worth it just for running coverage. If we don’t chip in some $ for a sport we value, we don’t value it. And we wonder why it limps along??!
