Yeah, got me thinking about Bikila as well. Looks very smooth and relaxed, and seems very efficient, not wasting any energy with his short, compact stride. Think he would have struggled in a sprint finish though.

Love it!! I forgot to take pictures but the bar where I was watching from was packed to capacity! ~ 150 people.

Scenes like these make be proud to be a fan of athletics from Kenya. Sports bars in other countries are for football, F1 and even golf. Never marathons.

Not losing any sleep over "any annoying tendencies with Kara" and suggest you try & do the same. As for a country showing love for their marathon elites, I can only say I am jealous & wish I lived somewhere where running prowess was more revered.

No way -- the Hahner twins are great! Always smiling, always happy, and seem to attract a flock of men each time they race. If you want to make the sport "popular", these girls can only help.

Eliud is GOAT, but he's plateau'd folks. Look elsewhere for the WR. Sub 2 is not happening anytime soon in a race (maybe a sub2 event). Current crop won' t get there.

They would fit right in, in "America".
