East Germany did field a team at the 1990 European Atheltics championships. And they pretty much destroyed everyone in the medal haul. As you say the system stayed in place under the unified Germany team for a big part of the rest of the 1990s.

No, unless you're looking for something to cry about, they're even saying he cut the course haha; some people just have to look to far into things, and it's stuff you wouldn't ever think of while watching the race or any other time if some fools didn't stir it up. It's a shame some people just can't enjoy some good running and hard work once in a while without feelings so bitter and hateful.

I watched the race in German and wondered why he took water at 40K. It would have been a good time for Kipsang to surge if he had anything left.

Didn't Kipsang actually surge a little there? I thought he pulled away some. Anyway it could have been anything maybe his mouth was dry or his throat a little and he just needed a sip, or like I think Canova said its just a metal thing, I'm 100% sure it wasn't to clean drugs out of his system though haha, just crazy the stuff people come up with.

Pretty sure the OP's point was that no one said a thing about Bekele being passed a bottle(s) by his coach but people lost their minds over Rupp being handed bottles. The act of being passed a bottle by one person over another isn't the point. The fact one runner gets crucified for something while another gets no criticism for doing the same thing is what makes these boards often painful to read.
