Fisher is right on the cusp of sub-4, and I agree he should break it by the end of June. Actually I was surprised he was so close at this time already. He just needs the right race and to run smart to get it.

It's a great time, especially since his coach has stated they haven't done a lot of "sharpening" work yet. He has a chance to run around 3:57-3:58 in the mile. Keep in mind how physically immature he appears to be in comparison to lots of other guys. He has tremendous upside.
Grant is scaring 4 minutes to be sure and it is only 5/4. He also pretty surely could take a legit shot at 8:29 Lukas' HS two mile mark. He is a multiple FL Champ and has run 4:02 mile before this year and was very close to the equiv the other night.
Lukas and Danielson, are only guys in that 5 that I know of that did not break 1:50, Lukas has the huge two mile mark, so that matters not, he was very fit. I think Grant will get it done and comfortably.
I am surprised anyone criticizes his choice of races, I am not sure how many times folks want him to go to the well to try this.
I think next time in a faster paced race, he just does it. I never thought him a pure miler as I do not think he will or can ever run sub 1:48, but that was what folks thought about Rupp(3:50.xx) who had much more mileage on him than this guy does at this point, save soccer stuff.

Yes, he's training at 837 feet of altitude in Grand Blanc. Gives him a huge edge over runners from coastal beach areas.
