Kara doesn't sound even the slightest bit excited while commentating. At the bell lap she should have been on her feet screaming like the dudes in the 2010 Solinsky video. She also incorrectly stated it was Fisher's first non-time-trial record, overlooking the recent 3000.
Would guess she’s a narcissist, so it’s tough for her to get genuinely excited about the success of others
I remember people saying she was annoyingly excited at workd champs. Now she’s not exited enough. The crap she gets here is unwarranted. It gets old and it’s lame.
yes, good to see an epo/nandrolone assisted american coming out and running a national record.
Cool. So between the completely banned Russians, nandrolone Americans and EPOd e Africans and Moroccans who do we have left? Do we just watch a Fijian run a 17:28?
He’s Now number 12 all time in the 5 and number 7 in the 10. He’s got the a lethal (Albeit not quite best of the best) kick and top end PRs to beat anyone in the world now. Wondering how lagats feeling right now
I wonder what, if anything would bring joy to the fans here? If Kincaid or Klecker accomplished this feat, would there be such negativity as well. Chelimo, Rupp, Solinsky….. I’m trying to find reason for nothing but “great run!” Second is better than nothing at the world stage and 4 years ago, who would have thought Team USA would have anyone to cheer for in Diamond League distance races. I’m sure Kenya and Norway LetsRun apps would find joy in their “team”. That’s the problem with US is the fact that there’s little respect or recourse when stomping on a good thing, simply because one can. lots of places to improve ones perspective and to find simple joy in other’s successes.
He’s Now number 12 all time in the 5 and number 7 in the 10.
And....[say it....say it]...#1 Caucasian all time. [ only E. Africans in front of him].
And since according to all the "Patriots" here on let'srun allllllllll the top Africans are dirty no good cheaters, does that make him the #1 clean runner off all time??? [ gasp]
He has officially filled the hole left by Rupp in the 5 and 10.
True. The surprising thing to me is that Rupp has a faster mile PR that's like 10 seconds faster than Fisher's and Fisher's PR jump over Rupp's PR in the 5K is almost equal greater than Fisher's PR jump over Rupp's PR in the 10K (11-12 seconds).
This is explained by Rupp having never quite performed up to what he was probably capable of in the 5K (probably low to mid 12:50s) and Fisher running mile races and 1500s less often for the last 7 or 8 years whereas Rupp ran them regularly well into his 5K peak.

If true, that's pretty sad (I didn't see the race). Kara is clearly jealous of what the new crop of runners are doing.
You mean there is zero chance she was unaware of or forgot about Fisher's recent 3000m race? I guess the idea of interpreting someone's statements charitably is a ship that sailed long ago.

We were ecstatic for Shelby H. We cheered for her mercilessly. Look what it got us. We were played for fools. We ain't going down that road again.
I know he didn't medal at Worlds, but is this the greatest track season by an American distance runner in the professional era (counting Lagat as mid-d)?
He's so damn good and has been for so long. Absolute workhorse and committed to the sport. Thoughts? He seems on track to dethrone Galen once he hits the roads, no disrespect to Galen.
Great to see that I am not the only one who doesn't believe in fairytales. 4 American records this year alone??? Cmon guys wake up and smell the roses.
I understand the concern. But who is there to cheer for. Jakob dirty, we don’t know, Ethiopians dirty? We don’t know. plenty of cheats in the world. 6 degrees of separation in a sport that’s pretty small at the elite level means most athletes bump into a dirty athlete or coach along their travels. I was frustrated at Shelby as well, but I believe in not guilty until caught, and Fisher has passed his tests and has not given an ounce of a reason to think he’s dirty. He’s been at this level for some time now and really I think his response to altitude training is more likely the reason for continued success than doping. But fair is fair, so I get your point. Life is about “not borrowing trouble” and doing the best you can with the talents given. Certainty, best case scenario, it will all end in death and destruction or us all. hopefully it can end without the treachery and betrayal that has burned US in the past.
