Brussels 5k is being paced for 12:45. I predict Fisher will run 12:46.79. What does everyone else think? michiganrunner55

That had better scare Jakob.
There are a lot of people that run similar 1:43:65 this year.
(didn't another Brit run 1:43.51 this year?)
The 800m is an untrustable distance.
He need more consistence to be considered.
What are you babbling about? How many of those 1:43 guys run 3:29? Rojo was referring to Wightmans speed in relation to other 1,500m runners, which should worry Jakob if he can't break him before the final 250m.
I trust the 800m distance.
Scare him into running faster the 3rd lap I’d say…We’ll see in Zurich but I think he will run sub-55.5 there to burn off Wightmans kick.
a faster version of Alan Webb who can perform at championships.
3:29 was run by a lot of people the two last year.

Do we have a confirmation that Jake will be in Zurich?
I think he would have ran 12:39 today and would have entered among the legends with Bekele, Geb, and Komen to have been able to run sub 12:40 in a true race. (not a time trial like Cheptegei).
Lol. And how many of those ran 1:43? Certainly not anyone in the WCs 1500 final
You have a strange definition of a loser. Jakob is 21. He should be OK.
He will have chances next year. The resurgence of these 3 Kenyans and Aregawi is going to lead to some hugely fast times. They are all taking notice that in the right circumstances pushing the pace from 1500 out or further can result in not only fast times but wins. Letting it slow has led to wins/top 5 finishes for athletes not at their level. Unless they’re spooked by Jakobs presence it’s a matter of time for him to run like Fisher did except have a 1:55 last 800 to win in a crazy time.
Why bigger looser?
Times don't prove anything.
Winning the title the day D and how to prepare for it is the most important.
I haven't watched the race yet, so I'm just shooting in the dark.
But I doubt it, in a fast race he would sit and kick the last 400m. So probably 12:41-43.
Wightman is done with the 1500 this year, he's running the 800 in Zurich
Ah and then 5th Ave Mile? Kinda lame though the 800m guys will strike back next week I assume.
last lap was run in 57.75. Maybe a 55/56 last lap at best by Jake if we're to believe he is in sub 12:40 shape. so a 12:43 at best if Jake decided to take it from the bell. But Krop didn't truly change gears until the last 150 to drop Grant so if he sat on him, 12:44 high to 12:45 low.
Mo Farah has similar or better championship record than Bekele, Geb, or Komen. Yet no one would consider him a better distance athlete than any of them.
He is playing ala Coe game. Let's see if Sebastian Coe will help him.
(well Coe/Ovett/Cram family tradition)
I agree. Unless of course he feels a need to lead prior to that 3rd lap.....like he did at the WC.
Sit, relax, bury the 3rd lap, come home the winner says Karoli from the comfort of my couch.
