Eh, screen saying 2:03:04...still dang. Cat and mousing that 3:04 may just have cost them a WR.

Berlin is as fast as it gets, but to start with 2:40, split 61:11, and then still almost get WR is one excellent performance. I'm definitely thinking a guy like Bekele or Kipchoge can go low 2:02 under the right conditions.

Beautiful race overall between the two. You rarely see guys get dropped multiple times and fight back in it. Bekele wins and Kipsang is certainly back to relevance. Sweet!

WOW - thank you for that!! I got to watch the last few minutes of the finish. I knew there was a reason why I learned all that German.Geb in my head will always be the GOAT, but at this point, It'd be a fairly irrational sentiment after that sublime performance by Bekele.

Another near WR miss this time by Bekele! I give it to the guy though evidently he received lots of help on the sidelines by that bikerman Hermans. Wonder what was in those drinks? All the same, its great to see my boy Wilson Kipsang take that defeat as the gentleman he is with a smile. Happy he scooped a PB as a consolation! 2nd and 5th fastest times ever!
