It was just Hurta-Klecker's info (that she was asked for WR pacing in Florence).
I thought that maybe there is such DL hype for publicity and better tickets sales (like with Laura Muir over the 1000 at Birmingham World Indoor Tour Final, where it was clear this year that she is not at her best and in record-breaking form) but there is no:There is also no hype in Kenyan press.
She will maybe try. But her 3:58.57 opener from Doha is 5th this season. New ETH talent Birke HAYLOM born 2006 is 3rd with 3:57.66.
I hope for Monaco but it's possible that Kipyegon's best chance was last year. Though she is still relatively young at 29. We'll see...
So what? That 3:58.57 was a race which she won with a 58.7 last lap, and she beat Birke Haylom by 3.3 seconds that day. There’s absolutely nothing to suggest Kipyegon is out of form or on the decline.
