2015 Asics LA Marathon

March 15, 2015
Los Angeles, CA

"In my mind, Ryan Hall has squandered his talent. I could not even believe his performance in LA Marathon. ... Hall needs to find a coach, stop tweeting, train and focus. How long does he expect sponsors to buy the peace, love and understanding approach he is taking? ... He runs right now like a someone who does not understand that he is in a competitive sport. .. I hate to see talent squandered, and Ryan Hall is one race from being a trivia question on Jeopardy."

Runner's World:

She hadn't even finished a marathon (despite three attempts) since 2008. Russell added more mileage, longer workouts and did more on the road vs track.

Toni Reavis:

Reavis talks about the rise of the internet and how it put a lot of pressure on these three from an early age. Mostly though he analyzes Hall's recent DNF in LA and the direction his career is going.

Right now Meb Keflezighi is the only person who could be considered a "favorite" to make the team so there are at least two spots wide open.

The New Yorker:

A lot of insight into the mind of Hall who pre-race said, “I’m not afraid of failure. I don’t take it personally. So if I blow up, I’m bummed for sure, but it’s like, life goes on. It doesn’t define me. So I’m not afraid to take big chances.”
