How is she running in the Rome half?
How is she running in the Rome half?
Any updates from Italy??
1:11:06
She beat the top age group ladies by about a minute!!!
And that is what we are reduced to celebrating now.
When all of this crap about breaking the American record and is almost 4 minutes off it...I think people have the right to comment accurately.

then comment accurately
which part of "click bait," don't you understand?
it was the journalist who mentioned how close Hasay's pr is to the AR, while in the interview Hasay laughed at the suggestion and said she was aiming to stick with the pacers as long as possible.
she's been off with a foot injury and this is her return to racing, her primary aim would have been to complete the race without her foot flaring up so that she knows she is on track for whatever she has lined up next. in that context, 1:11 is fine, as long as her foot holds up.
cheers.
Boston prediction for her:
DNF or DNS

The MyBestRuns article is a bit ambiguous as the 'she' who laughed may well have been Lonah Chemtai Salpeter rather than Hasay.
However, I agree 100% with your click bait comment. From the article it is not clear if Hasay ever spoke at all.
Considering the average pace of this half marathon is pretty close to her marathon pace, perhaps she decided to race it as a hard training run at marathon effort rather than going all out for the half? With Boston 5 weeks out this seems more reasonable than doing a max effort for the half as far as I can see...
Way to make a mountain out of nothing. Whether 1:11 is where Hasay should be at the moment was never questioned. Read again, if you like. What was questioned was the poster celebrating Hasay coming in one place ahead of 2 local masters runners. Call it a training run if you like but don’t celebrate it as a glorious result of an American elite. You don’t fly all the way to Rome to tough it out with a couple of grandmothers, she could have done that back at home. Not sure why they chose Rome and not London, 1:11 would have given her a title, albeit against a very B Grade field. I’m guessing that any race Farah is in, is not longer A.S. certified. Going back to my hamburger and Coke now.

Agree. Hope her foot is doing well. It'd be interesting to see her race splits — if she indeed decided not to push too hard before the race.

???
What an absolute failure! American record my arse. She should just hang up her shoes and eat some pasta. She’d go quicker with a bit more muscle.
Hahahahahaha
Good morning Kara!

Yes Lonah Chemtai Salpeter!!! Way to represent Israel! Only two seconds off of Florence Kiplagat's course record back when she was in her prime! Great things about to happen for her!

Objective was likely to run at M pace. If so, mission accomplished.
1st race in over a year and still ran faster than Desiree Linden has over the last decade for the HM.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
