The video is pretty good
I'm pretty sure I saw this on google news and not letsrun, sorry if it's a repost.
Basically, it was raining and wet and this Chinese lady and an Ethiopian lady were dueling for a win at the Suzhou marathon (winning time 2:30, not bad for the conditions). The race organizers required Chinese runners to drape themselves in the national flag as they cross the line. So two officials on the sidelines try to give this Chinese runner a flag while she's trying to outkick the Ethiopian for the win, and finally two of them sort of just get in her way and hand her one. She crumples up the flag and holds it for a little bit, then lets it go to sprint when she starts to struggle to keep up with the Ethiopian. Of course, she has to claim it was a mistake, since an act of disrespect like purposefully tossing away the flag can result in three years of prison time.
The video is great, just take a minute and watch it if you're interested. I've never seen such a thing. Crazy.
