I am trying to get into running.
I am 15 & I can run 3.5 ish miles outside if I push myself, but I realized that it's better if I start at the bottom from and work up so i don't hurt myself, especially because where I live it is way too cold to run outside. Thus, I have resolved to run on the treadmill.
For some reason, running on the treadmill for me is really fucking scary. I don't hold onto the handles, but every time I run on it I get this impending doom that I will fall off, which in turn impacts my stride and makes me panic if my body is any further than within .5 of a centimeter from the handrail.
At my gym we have these really nice supportive treadmills at the front and some in the back that have less supportive material. The nice treadmills that are good on your knees are open in the front, and I feel really unsafe on them (like i will fall out the front), so even though it is worse on my knees (and my stomach tbh), I use the back ones. I basically feel like I am going to tip over when I run on a treadmill. I have to run really close to the front portion and I feel like I am running on ice every single minute. I envy people who can hop on and just run normally.
I have been having so many embarrassing moments at the gym where I try to run on the treadmill and literally have to stop bc I feel like imma fall off and it is ruining my running experience!!!
anyone else experienced this? any tips? y'all are probably gonna have some snarky things to say but i thought i'd post anyway.
