You're just jealous that he came back after having cancer to win the most brutal athletic endeavor seven times. A true champion, winner and someone everyone should idolize.
What's even more boring than watching a marathon on TV?
Yep, you guessed it, watching an Ironman on TV. Hilarious how they always talk about the turns on the bike course and people crashing. If they were better bike handlers as they should be, this wouldn't happen.
Oh yeah, Lance is one of the biggest douchebags of all time
Patrick Lange won it.
Sarah True got fourth in her debut.
And got passed by Anne Haug who was generally no match for True in ITU racing over the past several years...
Looks like that Lionel Sanders dude that lied about his 9:46 2 mile in practice completely bonked. Karma.
He had a 7 hour training session 2 days before Kona
Either
1) he lied about that
2) his coach is a complete idiot (I believe that he is self coached BTW)
The other triathletes must be laughing so hard when watching his videos
BTW: he got beat by a woman yesterday
He did exactly as he thought he would. He said that he was trying to sabotage his race and come top 30 or 40. If you factor in the woman that beat him and the amateur athlete that also beat him, he came in 30th.
Success!!!!
Seems complicated however. Why does he simply not compete.
I have followed Lionel's Vlog for the last few months. He needs a coach. He's wired like many great endurance athletes. Extremely insecure, compulsive, obsessive, masochistic. If left to his own devices, he will destroy himself. Additionally, his mental health seems to be spiraling in a negative direction. He will lose some sponsorships over this stunt. Hopefully they stand behind him and get him the help and support he needs.
His workout before the race seemed like addictive behavior. The goal seems to feed his addiction and not to win.
He also has a video, I think before Mt. Tremblant, where he alludes to not eating much before the race because he thought he was too heavy. Yeah, that's exactly what you want to do before an 8 hour endurance event, not eat.
This guy sounds like Walmsley's future.
She looked rough going through that last 10k - Had to be held up when she finished

Lance Armstrong recap of Kona.
Does Lionel read Letsrun? Probably Corey Bellemore does.
He first starts off with a clip of when he says he sabotaged his race and will end up 30th
We obviously discussed this here
Then he says that he is an idiot and is coaching himself (idiot is the exact term that we used. He could of said stupid, moron...)
Then the problem begins:
He still defends himself by saying that he did not actually overtrain (this is a problem. He still actually believes that he did not overtrain. Can't fix it then I guess!)
Then he says that he will make "big changes". Given that he is probably bipolar, his live is all about extremes. He does not understand (he can't ) or work in subtleties, which this sport actually demands.
He said that he will go from self coached to having a top triathlon coach watch him "every day". That's a bit extreme (again). No top coach will want to follow him every day. So if he gets that daily thing, then he will get a crap coach. Sanders is all about BIG NEW IDEAS (based on zero knowledge as he admits himself). That's tough for any coach to have to contend with.
The solution is obvious for all of us, but so impossible for him to understand.
Get a coach to look at what you did in the past. Have that coach tweek (tone down mostly) the plan by looking at what is working and what is not. Make sure that it's a plan (don't change everything all the time). Go on certain training blocks with this coach who will work on specifics. Simply have an assistant coach follow him daily (since Sanders will have trouble following a plan alone)
If not, the spiral continues...
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
