OK, the story is that 4 days ago I gave a blood test and my results came back as follows:
RBC - 4.6
HGB - 141
HCT - 42
------------
WBC - 3.9 (kind of lowish)
Neutrophils - 1.3 (very low, normal is above 1.9)
Due to the fact that my WBC and Neutrophils were so low, I gave blood test again today (that is 4 days later) and got
RBC - 4.4
HGB - 135
HCT - 40
------------
WBC - 4.6
Neutrophils - 2.5
As you can see the WBC and Neutrophils have returned in normal range but there is quite a huge drop in RBC, HGB and HCT values. Basically it shows I am anemic right now. What can be the reason for such a sharp change between tests just 4 days apart? The first test was done in the morning and the next in the afternoon.
A bit of my background:
I have Ulcerative colitis and had some bleeding in April-June, the last month or so has been fine without bleeding though.
I am on vegetarian diet (due to UC) but my B12 is normal (I supplement B12 and all the other vitamins, minerals).
My Ferritin has fallen during last couple of months but still is above reference range (beginning of Aug - 27, Jul - 41, Jun - 52).
For last two weeks I have increased my mileage quite significantly for HM preparation (from 50 to 70 mpw) and been feeling tired all the way.
Last couple of days I have been feeling sick (sore throat, stuffy nose etc.)
My resting HR has increased from 42-45 at the end of June, beginning of July to 55-58 lately (but I have written it off to mileage increase and overall fatigue).
