I want to do everything I can to run sub 16:30 this fall. I will be a sophomore in high school. PR's:
Last year's XC 5k: 17:50
Track 2 mile: 10:20
1 mile (could have run faster): 4:55
I ran around 20mpw in middle school, 30 in XC, 40 in indoor, and up to 60 in track
Here is what I'm thinking for this summer, summer of malmo type training:
Sun: 14 miles
Mon: AM- 7 miles
PM- 4 miles
Tue: 3 miles + 4 mile tempo + 3 miles
Wed: 10 miles
Thu: 8 miles + 8 50m sprints with full recovery
Fri: AM- 4E
PM- 12x200m
Totaling about 60mpw. Strides 4 times a week and core/weight training 3 times a week. This would be in July and I would build up to about 70 mpw. I'll probably run in the early mornings as I live in Florida.
Any changes I should make? What else can I do to achieve this?
