I run forefoot. I used to run with 4mm drop, now I bought shoes with 10mm drop. In no way does this make me heel strike. I still run forefoot, so low drop doesn’t make you run forefoot. Also it feels better with 10mm drop, but my question is what are the pros and cons of high drop vs low drop? Does anyone have a clue about this?
Agree with the part in bold.
However, what is the 'pre-occupation' that people have with 'heel striking'.
a) there is nothing wrong with heel striking of itself.
b) 'overstriding', or more correctly when you land in front of COM, is bad and cause a 'braking effect' whether forefoot or heel strike
c) forefoot strike is bio mechanically less efficient and does not engage the optimum muscles...not my opinion, but a physics/bio mechanical consequence
