Well...I'm kinda late to this post. But oh well. 10 pages of good talks to read (and a lot of work to do...so I don't see how to do both ahah).
This week was tiring mainly due to the fact that I was still recovering from the 10k race and I had the swimming challenge (and my coach decided to use all the mileage from the 10k training to prepare me for the upcoming 15k - 30 June).
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: 40' at 5:30 min/km + 4 strides
Wednesday: 10x400m with 1:20 min jog. Tried to average 1:25, which I did so it was a nice workout, but my legs felt tired probably from the 2500m swimming I did in the morning.
Thursday: 40' at 5:00 min/km
Friday: 50' at 5:30 min/km
Saturday: 20' WU + 5x1200m (4 min resting. 2 static and 2 jogging) + 10' CD. Nice workout here, lots and lots of sun and heat. Finally some good weather in Lisbon! Did exactly 4:43 minutes for the first four reps and then decided it was enough since I had the swim challenge the next day and my legs were already shaking a lot and decided not to risk anything. Also did a massage in the afternoon
Sunday: 40' at 5:00 min/km. This was along with my coach and we decided the objectives for the next season, as I will try to workout with my dad for his first marathon in November while chasing that sub 40 for the 10k and sub 1:30 for the HM (he says it is still very early for me to try the Marathon as I am only 23 years old and still have lots and lots of pop in my legs to race some 5ks and 10ks. And I partially agree, but I'm very curious with the Marathon workouts and how my body will respond to that).
The swimming challenge was awesome and I recommend everyone to go and try some open water once in a while. More or less like going solo for an entire half marathon but instead of hearing your footsteps you only hear your breathing. Finished 4th of my age group with 37 minutes...something like 1:56min/100m!
