And sometimes, people want stuff, and opportunity presents itself where they have access and so they'll get it. That's probably what's going on with Rosa. He probably has access to illegal substances, and his athletes want it.

It's not rocket science. Why do junkies always find a dealer? Similar concept here, athletes pick the camp they want to train in. I guess Rosa's reputation precedes him ...

They developed a test for EPO at the turn of the millennium. Nobody in countries with comprehensive out of competition testing can use it in more than micro doses these days.

Nobody could ever take Kenyan middle-distance running seriously again, just as most rational fair people can't take Moroccan performances seriously.

Whoever it is, Kenya needs to be suspended for at least one Olympic cycle.

Would be tragic for genuine Kenyan track fans to have to accept that even with a population of 70 million devoted to distance running, they still can't come close to pasty white boys running clean 40 years ago.

And even in the unlikely event that El G was clean, he benefitted indirectly from having training partners and even pacemakers who we know for certain were not clean. We can say for sure that his times were at least partly the result of North African cheating, even if he was himself (unlikely) clean.

The last 25 years of middle-distance running has been a sham. The victims are the few elite runners who were likely clean, as well as the fans of the sport.

Rosa is doing a lousy job of educating his athletes about masking agents.

My second reaction was, 'it's about darn time that Kenya instituted out of competition testing.'

My third reaction was, 'now Kenya will just get more sophisticated in their out of competition doping.' Kinda like we do here in 'merica...
