I can't imagine that heat is a huge factor in the mile. As long as you keep hydrated during warmup and after race you should be fine. Maybe 3 seconds?
In 5km and up however, a bit of dehydration can happen if the temperature is excessive.
You should try to adapt as much as you can and train in all conditions.
