Truthfully, I can't help but agree with this statement. I'm American and I don't say this as a knock on America. Think about it, Europe has thousands of years of history to build its culture off of - why WOULDN'T Europe be a more culturally rich society.
I also see people saying Europe knows how to enjoy the finer things in life that "make life worth living." Sure, and Americans do value productivity (guess what, Asia takes this to an even greater extreme), and practice more a work-hard-play-hard attitude towards life, and that's why we have an economy that attracts the best minds from all over the world. Also, remember that small little event known as World War II? Yeah, that work ethic that people here like to bash kinda helped save Europe's asses while countries like France sat on their ass drinking wine all day.
