So, I've been dealing with a mild groin pain, nothing that hurts to run on but the groin pain is highest if I do a butterfly position with my legs on the floor. I ran a little over 18 miles the other day and felt fine for the whole distance. About an hour after I got home my knee started hurting and I've never had knee pain from running ever. So I started to feel around on my quads to see if I could find a trigger point which I did in my vastus medialis (vmo). It's only been about 48 hours since the initial injury and I feel much better than when the injury occured but occasionally I feel mild pulses of aches near the vmo. Is this something I should worry about? Is safe to run through this one? Is my groin the reason for my vmo acting up? Not sure how to proceed.
