I wrote a post on his page asking when the film would be out. He never published it.
So I e-mailed the contact form, asking. Ignored. I say he's a fake and fraud.

Thanks for the link!
Desnivel Magazine article on the Kilian Jornet Controversy
Kilian has posted the trailer to the Everest movie and soon the proof will be available. Now can everyone stop trying to drag him down the mud?

If that 0:56 shot is Jornet's "proof" he summited Everest then I'm going to laugh because the background shadows clearly show he is not at the top because there is higher terrain.

Can Jornet provide me with access to his film to verify his "proof"? I can't travel to Spain to watch it.
So far, Jornet's trailer for his film further shows that he didn't reach the summit of Everest.
This entire thing is like waiting for the money shot in a porn film only to find out they're not going to get naked and instead, take a nap in separate beds.
For a guy who takes selfies galore, don't you think you'd get to the summit and take video/photos of you on the summit of Mount MF Everest? FKT or not, you gotta get that pic.

I am a huge Kilian fan and like most people never questioned his summits of Everest. But, not being able to show proof that he summited because he has a film coming out? That makes no sense. That's like how sociopaths answer tough questions, by saying crap that makes no sense.
Even if there was some issue with intellectual property rights, showing an edited movie produced for entertainment purposes to prove he reached the summit? Just no. No. If I wanted to prove I ran a 3:43.12 mile, I would request that I be allowed to show you a short film I produced as evidence. Even without massive corporate backing, I can 100% make a movie which shows me running a 3:43.12 mile. Mostly it would show the start and finish (the only important parts) and in-between I would cut away for dramatic purposes to photos of my youth and video interviews of me, my family and friends talking about how much I have trained.
Showing the evidence should be automatic, all this stuff just tells me he did not reach the summit either time. It does explain why he tried to go back up a second time, as he knew he didn't make it the first time.
He has never said that was his proof. Just wait until the movie is out then you can comment on the legitimacy of his climb.
On what planet does it not make sense? Every other mountain he's been up is comparatively pedestrian or at least of much less interest to your average movie goer. His other films are going to be seen by fans and ultra runners only and his releasing photos and videos of himself at the summit of those mountains isn't going to affect the audience at all.
This, I'm guessing, is the cross-over attempt. The attempt to get regular movie goers or at least Netflix watchers to pony-up to watch a skinny Spanish guy do a sport they have no interest in. He absolutely needs to keep his powder dry and make the movie as dramatic as possible. And that includes not putting extensive summit footage in the trailer.
It's laughable to watch how the conspiracy theorists who spent pages denying there'd ever be a movie and that a brief production delay was a damning indictment of fraud have dropped that argument instantly. Now their objection is that there's not enough summit footage in a 59 second teaser trailer (for the movie they insisted didn't exist). I wonder what their argument will be by page 19?
Weak sauce defense. No one suggested there would be no movie at all, only whether said movie would have actual verifiable summit footage or instead some vague nighttime shots of him looking tired on a patch of snow in an unverifiable part of the mountain.
It is seriously looking like no real evidence will be forthcoming. Pretty sad, his films and career have been very inspiring up until now, it's too bad if he tries to slide by this one on his reputation rather than evidence.
Some of the greatest climbs in Himalayan history were "unsuccessful" in that they didn't reach the true summit (Gasherbrum IV "Shining Wall" is the best example). In those cases the mountaineers were forthcoming that they had to turn back, and their honesty is ingrained in the code of mountaineering history. Of course they typically didn't have major film/support budgets driving the bus either. I have a feeling that it is coming down to $$$.

Are you offering to buy us a copy of Jornet's highly edited film so that we can check his claims?
I can tell you what the summit shot is already: pitch black with shadows of higher Everest terrain above Jornet that he didn't climb.

Earth. I don't really care if it makes sense on some other planet, it doesn't make sense on this one, being Earth.
He said he made it to the top, he currently can't prove he did. When asked to provide proof his answer is, "watch the movie", which just simply isn't how it works. A movie doesn't prove anything. I've watched Star Wars, it doesn't prove that Jedi knights exist, although it sure looks real. I'm sorry if you go to the movies and believe everything you see is real, it's not.
Since he claims to have been to the top, why would showing a photo of him at the top before the movie came out spoil the movie? it would not. If he refused to say if he made it to the top or not and that we'd have to wait for the movie, that would be different. However, he would still be required to show that evidence independent of the movie, if it existed, after we all found out if he's saying he made it to the top. What he is doing is illogical.

Yes, we all know they would put the PROOF in a one minute movie trailer!!!!!
Hi Killian, good luck. Let me know if you need a video editor...

Dumber things have happened like Jornet saying he didn't carry a phone or used fixed ropes.
Wow, we have an answer and we're still on page 17! When the movie is released the conspiracy theorists are going to claim the summiting footage is CGI. Gotcha.

It's always the guys trying to look smart who like to say "Occam's razor", and then, almost invariably, apply it wrong. The simplest answer as to why they have not produced evidence of him reaching the summit is because there is no such evidence. Any other explanation is (obviously) more complicated. The reason you can't see that is because you are an idiot.
