Willmott must have worn out his welcome at Oneonta as this is a significant downgrade.
Anyone know what the story is there?

Oneonta posted his job after his first year, maybe they weren't pleased at that point in time but didn't like the applicant pool so they just kept him around another year. Heard he got fired from Vermont, maybe he should just stick to coaching Winter Olympics stuff.
Will he go to Texas? He will be a home run hire if he takes it.
Probably because Coach Greene has been killing it at Purdue for starters...

It's not posted - but informal interviewing has already begun and is widely known in coaching circles.
Rumor also circulating that Harlis himself is next to go.
Doesn’t need to be. Everyone knows it is.......
Let the VanHoy to UNC rumors begin!!!
Van Hoy to UNC is a done deal. His stock will never be this high again at Ole Miss and they graduate almost everyone that has made a high impact during his rise. He wants to go back to UNC and they desperately need him. I bet he could even persuade Suliman and Scott to come with as a good starting point for the rebuild at UNC. Recruits will come, UNC will own the ACC in 2-3 years.

Common sense would say Pat Henry has the most Texas connections, has the most experience building a program, and is perhaps looking for one more fresh start for his swan song???
Floreal would be crazy to leave Kentucky.
Meaders fired Vanhoy when he got there. Why would you go back to work for someone who fired you once before?
Buford-Bailey isn't a top candidate for Texas ?
Texas is not what it used to be. TBB is logical choice. State talent split up, donor drama, FB struggling, B12 sux....gonna be hard to steal a big time coach just for $$. New programs emerging with equal resources.
Texas is easily the second best job in the country behind Oregon. Frankly, no one else is even very close. Ask the adults before speaking next time sonny...

I agree with this. Its a huge position, lucrative, great athletic funding.

We're Texas
Chances that a person could land an assistant coaching job without volunteering/GA but just knowing the right people and start out at a small school?
Actually Texas A&M is a pretty good job down the road. Bigger budget and in the SEC. Same in-state recruiting.

Happens all the time. Even at big schools.
Texas is crazy if they pass on Tonja Burford-Bailey. She's bringing in the #1 signing class for the 2018-2019 season. An incredible class. It reminds me of the Beverly Kearney era when she was able to recruit well.
