10-4 office work? Bahahahaha
LOL as well. Was that cleaning offices of fb,bb,baseball coaches or cleaning toilets. What a bunch of junk, talking about working 100 hours a week. Please.
Most head coaches today have far less to do with all the assistants and operations people working. Go back 30 years when there were maybe two coaches per team and then maybe I would believe 50-60 hours a week during the season. I just love it when coaches talk about how "busy" they are. Most can't even be bothered to return a phone call or an email....
I used to run 8-9 major meets during the indoor season and rarely did I top out above 60 hours per week, and that included 2 workout sessions a day plus recruiting. My god, coaching track and field is cake compared to doing landscaping, roofing or other labor intensive work.
whats going on with csun throws? I had heard it was schutz but i guess he backed ouy for nau. Who do they go to next?

What a joke, no way, unless you are using a chisel and a stone tablet to put out engraved letters.
Coaching is not work.
When did NCAA/USTFCCCA make all American a glorified participation award, I can’t remeber when it was but they basically made it so if u made NCAAs (not region) u got some type of all American
1-8? First team AA
9-16 Second team AA
17-20? Honorable mention AA
Don’t know the guy or if any of the other claims of falsifying his resume are true or just BS from trolls but he could still have been AA
Just a few questions:
1) How do you guys know who was 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice? PLEASE (for the love of God) provide CONCRETE proof. I see SOO much speculation on who is going where and 9 out of 10 times, it's incorrect.
2) Why do you guys feel it necessary to "hate" on every coach that gets a job that isn't a Lonnie Green, Dion Miller or Tim Hall? Instead of pointing out what you think is flawed in a hire, keep any negative comments to yourself.
3) What credentials do you have that qualify you to judge or criticize the work of another coach? You don't know what goes on at THAT school and in THAT group unless you're there day in and day out.
Our sport has enough issues that we can spend time debating, let's not use this platform to tear each other down. We always hear "We need to improve our sport", this type of negativity doesn't move our agenda forward. Everyone on here wants an opportunity to showcase their talent and advance their career, that's supposed to be purpose of this thread. Just think about that before you take shots at the next coach. Finally, If you guys are HIGH QUALITY coaches do you really have the time to be on here debating the merits of a hire.
I humbly await your criticism of this post.
Let’s be frank here, the guy is right. In most cases, the system is flawed. We don’t know who are the top choices etc. but many coaches talk to each other and word travels fast.
There needs to be less “we need to improve our sport” talk and more “we need to improve our sport” action. But that action will have to start with administration cracking down on the process, which for a non-revenue sport will likely never happen.
They shouldn’t hate on the guy who got the Sprint job, or the snot nose kid who wants to be a distance coach and gets a lil hook up, you can look at it from two perspectives, either a lil guy or girl gets a hook up and it looks undeserving or the older coaches take all the positions and that looks like a good ole boy system. It is what it is and every man or women on here that feels disenfranchised will get their opportunities at some point or another so just work your arse off when the time comes.
Oh and trust me pal, there are many white haired power 5 coaches on this thread. No doubt about it. If anyone gets a job and it isn’t earned, you will see how that pans out with their teams performance, In my 22 years of coaching, the results tend to follow the hire.
Very true. A hire good or bad takes at least 3 years to reveal itself. In my Division 1 days it was the "if you can't do it in 3 years- it ain't gonna happen". In my Division 3 days- it's 5. Perspective over time wins the day. With that said- someone please tell the Cornell Guy to take his hat off for photos- and tell the UALR Guy to keep his A-hole shirt in the closet :)

They did that in 2011 NCAA Indoors, so in 2010, when he qualified, you had to be top 8 to be all-american.
So he lied...
Get him let’s runners
Victor Houston to Ohio State.
The other claims seem false as well. If JP was a national champ, it may have been in juco?
The proper response would be to supply some evidence or proof of these accomplishments.
Bragging and lying, while getting the UALR job that was acquired by a false resume/bio will be frowned upon by UALR Administration.
List of AAs.

I agree, however one can ride the coattails of one successful athlete on their team and get by, but that doesn’t tell the tale. At the end of the day we are a non-revenue sport so if a xc team is accustomed to finishing in the back, a new hire isn’t expected to turn that around but keep team numbers up at the least. Their has definitely been some bad hires this summer and I’m sure we will see a few more really soon!
He still has one school record at LSSU. He may have had the indoor 800 at one point and it got broken. I'm not sure what to make of the All American claims, but the school records claim seems to at least have a hint of truth to it.
Since the last didn't post let's try this link...

didnt he just get hired at missouri state?
Please excuse my ignorance, what "bad hires" were made this summer and what makes them "bad hires"? I'm just really curious how you're evaluating these coaches and what qualifies you to critique their performance?
Reasonable people will agree that, no one except the staff know what is going on within a program except that staff. That being said, how can YOU (an outsider) berate a coach for not meeting YOUR expectations of success? You don't know the staff, support staff, student-athletes, administration, scholarship allotments, team dynamics, etc. All those factors contribute to the success or lack of success any coach experiences.
I would like to know your particular accomplishments and failures. Are you willing to be critiqued by the same standards you're holding these coaches to? If so please provide us with your resume and training philosophy so we can all benefit from your expertise. I'm NOT at all being condescending or sarcastic, I just want to be a better coach and have an opportunity to learn from someone that knows how to get it done.
