The programs that historically win have at least one coach that gets kids to score on very little scholarship. LSU won when Boo was getting walk-on TJ kids to score. Arkansas won when Coach Mac was getting stud distance guys to come for almost free. Texas A&M's run featured De La Garza developing walk-on javelin kids that scored at NCAAs. If USC is going to get over the hump, they need a jumps coach who understands their role and doesn't let their ego get in the way of winning.
