She made mincemeat of Rainsberger's course record in crap conditions, and Katie went on to get 4th at NCAAs last year. This was a tougher year, but she would have a solid shot at #8-12. She is good for a 15:3x-4x 5000, which puts her in that ballpark.
16:52 in XC over 5k ~ 20:24 over 6k in same conditions
Totally not a robot

So would have been 58th assuming Bowdoin Park is equally as tough as the course in Louisville. Not from the NE so I’m not sure how fair that assumption is.

This is laughable. If you think she would be jogging along with the
4:20/9:20/16:10 girls you are utterly benighted.

Bowdoin Park is a monsterously hilly course. There is no college course to compare to it. Basically a mile straight up hill, follOwed by a mike down hill.
AllieO was NXN champ in 2014, and then came in 2nd at NCAAs in 2015. Katelyn is of the same, or higher, caliber. Therefore, I think she'd be top 15 for sure, and probably top 10.

No chance in the discus , definitely in cross country .
I’m guessing too 5. And just a sophomore.

This. Especially after a season of adjusting to 6k racing. I'm going top 6 with 3 foreign 23 year olds ahead.

Finally, someone else with some sense!
Purrier ran 8:55 today and came 18th at NCAA XC
Schweizer ran 15:17 today and came 11th at NCAA XC
Kelati ran 15:37 today and came 7th at NCAA XC
Lokedi ran 15:39 today and came 44th at NCAA XC
So I guess that Tuohy would have came somewhere between 7th and 44th.
HS records are 9:00 and 15:45 respectively.
I think part of that had to do with Allie O being extremely undertrained in high school. That being said, Katelyn Tuohy is arguably already the greatest HS runner of all time as just a sophomore. I have no reason to believe she'll get worse because she's developed consistently since she was a 7th grade phenom. She probably wouldn't have stayed with the allegedly 26 year old Kurgat (about 10 year difference to tuohy...yikes). But I don't doubt she would've been top 5.

It's not a matter of getting "worse." It's maturity. She's going to get bigger and I don't mean putting on 5-12 lbs over the next three years (till the NCAA) but that's a possibility too.
Until we get a more detailed picture of what her training is like and her genetic profile (is she going to get taller?) then we reallly can't project what things are going to be for her Fr. year?
It's apparent that she's done some strength training. She is by no mean waif-like (like a Zola Pieterse). Reminds me of Cathy Schiro though I hope she stays away from M' training for a long time.

Kurgat has a 5K PR of 15:19 and won NCAAs
Schweizer has a 5K PR of 15:17 and also has an NCAA XC title
10th place was 28 seconds behind Kurgat. Adjusted to 5K that is 24 seconds. 15:19 + 24 = 15:43. I rest my case.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
