Assuming that you're training at a competitive (but not quite elite) level, which of the following events has the least likelihood of injury?
- 100 meters
- 400 meters
- 1500 meters
- 5000 meters
- marathon
Feel free to add any comments regarding variables such as age, types of injury, duration of recovery etc.
I'll have a start: I believe training for the 400 meters is least likely to lead to injury. Why? Low mileage, and not quite as crazily explosive as the 100. Anything above 400 and you've got to start logging the miles (ie, more injury).
