people enjoy what they enjoy...does it really matter?
it's the fact that others can be so judgemental about something so insignificant that surprises me.

Adults everywhere play Pokemon Go, resulting in strange funny behaviors in public. I know a balding 45-year-old engineer who is addicted to that stuff.
My experience nearly verbatim. On a side note, I'm terrified of my toddler eventually getting into video games. On the other hand, I'm thinking, "what a great excuse to get back into it!"

Best gift I ever got was Christmas of 1987. The 8 bit NES. It made life so much better. The SNES was awesome at the time, but looking back nothing ever was so enthralling as my time spent with the NES. It was like giving an eight ball to an eight year old. Twice a day. Everyday. It was maybe the best time of my life.
The problem is, it's been so long and games are so much more complicated and appear confusing. It's like taking 30 years off from running. How does one get back into it?
because video games were invented when they were kids, and grew up with them. The older generation still likes to take drugs and drive fast cars, and their now-dead parents used to play kick the can when they could muster the energy.
I'm an older guy (50+) but new gamer. I bought a Switch this summer and played Zelda, then Octopath Traveler, and now really getting into Skyrim. Going to work, running, and my kids' activities gets me out enough that I don't do much else out of the house. I had been into movies, reading sci fi, playing guitar, and a few other things around home but I'm really enjoying the games these days. Interacting with the story is fun, and there's challenging problem solving. There are tough opponents and sometimes you have to go deep in the playbook to beat them. I never knew it was this much fun.
You spend money on delicious food, on cafes, on drinks, on cars. on cinema, on series, and on a lot of things which aren't necessarily needed. Why not spend on games? They give a lot of emotions, help you to relax. I bought recently Dead by Deadlight http://hammergamer.com/games/action/dead-by-daylight just to have some fun. I don't see your point.
I enjoy games like Tom Clancy Splinter Cell and Grant Theft Auto and Halo. I'm also a big fan of Crash Bandicoot which was mentioned by the OP. My favorite is probably warcraft 2 tides darkness and beyond dark portal. I never played WoW but for some reason it just doesn't appeal. I like the look and simplicity of Warcraft2 especially making your own custom maps and battles.
the warcraft 2 campaigns were so good.
This thread is old, but it's a bit ironic for someone wasting time on letsrun to ask why people spend time playing video games. I think the phrase is he without sin should throw the first stone.
Some of the greatest stories in any form of media are told in the form of video games.
How often do you say things like that to people's faces? Exactly. That is one of many reasons why spending your life online and gaming is destructive.
For sure, it was my hobby since early school years, when i haven't got any internet connection and was only reading and hearing about MMO experience and was literally dreaming of it. When you grow up you don't have much time to gather up and meet each other , but when you do gaming, all you need is to login.
If you're still into gaming, you're not an adult. Time to grow up.
Do what is fun to you and don't worry what others think. Some man-boys like to game all the time and neglect other parts of their life like girlfriends, wives, and children. There has to be a happy medium (compromise) for healthy relationships.
Cause it's fun. /EOT
I do love playing games, though only smart and logic ones. I've recently found 94% logic quiz. A smart and a fun game to play sometimes. Still its questions are too tricky sometimes so I use hints from https://clubd.net/1091-something-kids-get-on-their-faces.html
I think adults who play Sony PlayStation are pathetic
Quite interesting I must admit
I personally love live casino games. I like the atmosphere, and the feeling of freedom. During a lucky streak, for instance, I get a sense of quite astonishing and implausibly sustained wellbeing. During quarantine I've been playing online https://aboutcasinoslots.com/slot-features/slot-machines-with-free-spins/
I like to gamble and I was recommended this site here https://theinternetslots.com/online-casinos/true-blue-casino/ What do you think about it? Where I can see rating casino?
I think it's all about perspective. I'm 42, and while between a full time job and family I don't have a lot of time to gameі I still manage to sit down once a week or so. I also like playing https://sigmally.com/ . On the other hand, my father is 67. He's recently retired and loves to play Baulders Gate in the evenings...
