What about Colbert? I hear he needs a new job.
I like that the "commentator" thinks sub-2 marathon is sub 4 minute mile pace

You heard wrong.

Kevin Hart probably knows the sport as well as you do. I am fairly positive he is comparing the two. Like how it continues to compare it to summiting Everest.
Yes, a sub2 marathon seems much harder than anything he has compared it to, but he is reaching out to a group that is not as dialed into the running scene as most LetsRun posters are.

According to your logic, the "commentator" also thinks that the sub-2 marathon attempt will take place on Mount Everest.
I don't see this as a bad thing. Kevin Hart isn't my style of comedian but I respect that he's continually working and loves running a lot and is a good ambassador to the sport.
oh boy, i can't wait to here him make fun of white people

oops, *hear*....i'm so white
He is also a Pokerstars ambassador now too, anything to make a quick buck I guess.
You mean a popular entertainer will be part of the broadcast team for a televised sporting event? Scandalous. What is this world coming to?
Yeah I don't think some of you know how much he runs. Hart has been a BIG part of Nike Club runs around the country, even with a crazy travel schedule that def out does mine. I heard he's in pretty good shape too, not pro or elite, but he can knock out a couple miles well under 7 minutes pace. He runs a lot and I think his announcing will def mix things up and make the race entertaining. Can't wait to hear him try to pronounce these names!

If you read his post, he says the "it's LIKE summiting Everest". His use of like explains that they are different but comparable in some ways and helps demonstrates Hart's proper understanding of English. He says that it IS running less than a 4 minute mile. That's not correct.
You can choose to believe that doesn't know what pace is required, that he thinks running 4:30s is less than a 4 minute mile, or that he only communicates clearly on occasion. Whichever you prefer, I don't think it leaves a good first impression to those who do understand the sport.
Fantastic. He's passionate about running, popular, witty and can talk in complete sentences at a good clip. Most running commentators tick one of those boxes at best.

Strike while the iron's hot. And if the check has sufficient amount of zeros at the end, he'd be stupid not to.

This. Kevin is an avid runner and will add substance to the broadcast.
I agree he will be a net positive. Is he only hosting on Facebook or will he be on the official broadcast?

Where is the official broadcast?
The only broadcast I know about at the moment is the RunnersWorld one. Is that the same stream as the official one?
If there is already a thread here on the topic, I apologize. I tried searching and can't find one.
God forbid they bring in experts that Toni Reavis or Marty Liquori.
